Welcome to my brand-new blog. Following a great 2022 voicing many animals (a Beaver, 2 Dogs and a Cat!!) I decided to give my voice a rest this year and focus on my art and design work. Read on to find out what exciting and creative projects I have been working on this year……

2023 has been a super creative year for me starting with the launch of the new CBeebies series Supertato, for which I had the pleasure of designing the programme’s logo.

I had so much fun creating this piece and I am ‘Super’ excited to announce that it is doing extremely well and commissioned for a second series. It’s amazing seeing my design as part of a huge success.
I’ve always wanted to be a Pinball Wizard so here it is….
I had a private client contact me to use my design for the finishing on a bespoke, handmade pinball machine. Super Cool – I can’t wait to have a go!
‘Ready Steady Go!’ I created this piece which was sold within a charity auction with all proceeds donated to Whizz Kids, a charity that empowers young wheelchair users (https://www.whizz-kidz.org.uk/).

In the summer I was lucky enough to have my piece ‘Movement of Colour’ selected, along with a number of other local artists, as part of the Shrewsbury Arts Trail. Greetings cards of this piece are for sale in my local art gallery, Mrs Jones Gallery (https://www.mrsjonesgallery.co.uk/)

Also my pieces, ‘Technicolour Dreams’ and ‘Urban Jungle’, were sold via The Shrewsbury Secret Artist sale to raise money for local charities.

I am also creating a coffee table book expressing my neuro diverse mind through art and poetry which I hope will bring visual joy to the reader. Additionally, I am developing a musical extravaganza and visual exhibition with the amazing emerging composer, Alex Lingard.
HUBTASTIC!

A number of my pieces are also on display and for sale at the Shropshire Supports Refugees hub in Shrewsbury, with 50% of the proceeds donated directly to this charity – it’s an amazing cause helping our fellow humans have a happier life. Watch this space for further details on which pieces are available to purchase.
And finally…OFF FLIES PINBALL PARROT!
‘Pinball Parrot’ flew away to its private collector.

Latest News:
In the summer I was interviewed in the ‘Getting Creative’ section of ‘My Shrewsbury magazine’. “Hannah Day meets visual artist, Jane Pickworth, who explores and expresses neurodivergence through wildly creative and colourful designs”. More on this topic coming soon.
In October I had the pleasure of attending Bernard Cribbin's memorial service at St Pauls Church, Covent Garden. It was a lovely service celebrating Bernard’s career. He was huge influence for me through my childhood. I enjoyed chatting with Jenny Agutter and Paul McGann, as well as meeting a Womble and singing Hole in The Ground with Mike Batt. It was great send off for this legend of children’s TV. Rest in Peace Bernard.
It was awesome going to the theatre in Llandudno to watch the dress rehearsal of this year’s CBeebies Christmas Show, which was incredible. Wonderful music as ever by Banks&Wag, CBeebies fans are in for a real treat.
While attending another CBeebies event I also bumped into fellow fluffytowner, Tameka Empson, who voiced Good Idea Puppy in the Love Monster series.
Now in the run up to Christmas I am beavering away at designing some funky Christmas cards and am entering one of the designs into a competition to raise money for charity. Fingers crossed for me peeps!
It’s been an exciting year and I’m looking forward to 2024. I am working on three exhibition themes, will be exhibiting more of my artwork in a new café and exhibition space, have some voice over opportunities around the corner and even the possibility of treading the boards in a theatre show.
WATCH THIS SPACE……. “And follow your dreams!!”
Thanks for reading and see you next time!
