I drew this rather scary face when I was a child in 1984. I would sit for hours drawing & colouring obviously unaware of my ADHD hyper focus! Art was my sanctuary & was the only thing along with Acting, Music & watching Children’s Television that kept me quiet & totally focused!

It’s Hip To Be Square! 2001 - BBC Elstree.
I had the most incredible time working as a Third Assistant Director, directing the background on my FAVOURITE Television Soap. I had just finished working on the Children’s BBC hit series ‘The Tweenies’ & thought it was time to gain some experience in the Drama department. It was like painting a picture because I had an empty canvas & had to decorate the Square & other locations with people! I got to work with some incredible Directors, producers & Actors who taught me so much & I really enjoyed my time on the Square. I would love to return one day.
Now …. As Babs would say …

I seriously LOVE what I do! So much creative howling fun! This was a voice session I recorded in my home studio for an audio book. I voiced 2 dogs & a cat! One dog was a St.Bernard & the other was a small terrier so I did my usual method acting & spent a lot of time listening to different breeds & how they sound. Luckily I knew exactly what they both sounded like. As a child in North London I lived very near the late actor/comedian Bernie Winters who had a famous St.Bernard dog called Schnorbitz! Schnorbitz would appear on TV alongside Bernie. On a Saturday afternoon I would sometimes walk back home from my acting classes in High Barnet & see Schnorbitz! I was always fascinated as to how deep her bark was. Well Schnorbitz… thank you for helping me perfect my character! Bernie would be proud ! 😊 I wonder what animal I’ll voice next??? You’ll just have to wait & see!!!! 😉❤️

Recording a promo under lockdown! Seems like forever ago now! I really missed going in person to studios & interacting with people! But…. The show must go on & it was incredible how everyone adapted to still make it happen.
